Article Processing Charge

All articles published in Diyala Journal of Engineering Sciences (DJES) are published in full open access. In order to provide free access to readers and to cover the costs of copyediting, typesetting, long-term archiving, website maintenance, and journal management, an Article Processing Charge (APC) applies only to manuscripts accepted after peer review. There are no submission charges, review charges, or color charges.

The Article Processing Charge is 100 USD for international authors and 250,000 IQD for authors inside Iraq. The APC is payable only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication following the journal’s editorial screening and double-blind peer-review process. Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial decisions, reviewer selection, peer-review outcomes, or the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.

The standard length, excluding references, should not exceed 20 pages for a regular research article or case study and 30 pages for a review article. Authors of accepted articles will be charged a mandatory excess page fee of 20,000 IQD, or 10 USD, per page for every printed page exceeding these limits.

APCs are not refundable once the article has been accepted for publication and the publication process has started, except in cases of documented administrative error by the journal.

The Article Processing Charge can be paid as follows:

Waiver Policy Statement

DJES is committed to supporting authors who may have limited financial resources. Requests for full or partial waivers of Article Processing Charges may be considered for corresponding authors from low-income, lower-middle-income, and upper-middle-income countries according to the World Bank country classification by income level .

The journal’s Editorial Board may also consider requests for publication fee waivers from authors in other countries who are facing financial difficulties or experiencing limited research funding. Waiver requests should be submitted before acceptance and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The decision to grant or reject a waiver request has no influence on editorial assessment, peer review, or the final editorial decision. All manuscripts are subject to the same editorial and peer-review standards regardless of payment or waiver status.
